Gavin is a hawk or falcon shapeshifter, who works as a slaver in the Dark Kingdom and is a minor antagonist in Black Dawn.
Black Dawn[]
Gavin, along with the bear shapeshifter Bern, helps kidnap Miles Neely and Aradia Crowley on the orders of Sylvia Weald. He later escorts Maggie Neely and a few other girls who are to be enslaved, only for them to escape thanks to Maggie managing to overturn the wagon they're being transported on.
Etymology[]
Gavin is the late medieval form of the name Gawain, which in turn is believed to be derived from the Welsh Gwalchgwyn, meaning "white hawk". This alludes to Gavin's animal form.
